Birthday Card Mad Using Kanban Safari Boutique

I thought I would show you how I made a Birthday card for my friend Sue using toppers from Kanban's Safari Boutique.

Equipment Used to Make the Card
Along with the toppers I used a lovely brown A5 card made from recycled paper, I bought these from Create and Craft and have used them quite a lot, they give a card a lovely shabby chic look.

The only equipment not in the picture that I used is my Fiskars Guillotine.

The lovely dark brown and gold card is also Kanban.

On the front of the A 5 Card I placed double sided tape on all sides, I like to peel it partially off as that allows some movement when placing card into position.

Position the gloss card onto the A5 card, when you are happy with the position remove the backing from the double sided tape and pressed down.

Then turn the card over and using a rule and craft knife cut the excess card off, this can be used on another project.

You are left with a lovely Gloss card front  ready for you to position your matt and layering and toppers.

I used a nice coffee coloured polka dot paper which contrasted nicely with the card and toppers. I simply cut this to the size required and used a punch to inset the corners to match the topper.

Using the same method of applying the double sided tape, I positioned the Kanban Safari Boutique topper on to the polka dot card and stuck down.

I then positions it onto the card and stuck it down, it was now ready for the embellishments and finishing touches.

These included a matching Safari Boutique Banner and Sentiment, a couple of pink roses and some lovely gold coloured diamante stick-ons.

Safari Boutique Birthday Card

As you can see this card was simple to make, I hope you like it as much as I do and hope that Sue did too.

I am still new to card making and each time I make a card I figure out something new or how to do something better, so I am sure my next Safari Boutique card will look completely different. Which is what makes card making such fun every card is unique.
